Nausea & Vomiting During Pregnancy

"I'm only 5 1/2 weeks, isn't it too early to be vomiting 24hrs a day and have a tummy that looks like I'm 4 months??"  This is the question I was asking myself with my 1st pregnancy!!!

Well, I've learned that  feeling sick rather than feeling great in the early days of pregnancy is very common and completely normal. Some women are just simply "luckier" than others to have very mild queasiness when they first wake up in the morning and go of to enjoy the rest of the day, while others (like me) have to endure weeks or even months of feeling or being sick all day long.

I was working at the time and found it very hard as my pregnancy sickness was day and night and lasted for the whole 8 months!!! :(  Did I not mention that I was hospitalized twice for dehydration too.

The same happened for my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. But this time I was suggested to take Vitamin B6 which took 4 weeks to kick in but helped a bit and then the hospital subscribed me with some very expensive tablets (the ones they give to their cancer patients to control the vomiting). But was only 10 in the packet... how was I meant to least for the other 4 months??   So here are some helpful tips that can help you too:

• Take Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) (along with your folic acid) while trying to conceive so you may get less severe symptoms. As it takes about 4 -5 weeks to kick in, if you wait till you find out your are pregnant then you will have to put up with pregnancy sickness for 4-5 weeks until it starts working. But always check with your doctor before taking any supplements in pregnancy.

• Eat little but often avoiding rich, spicy, acidic or fried foods. But anything that's easy to eat and keep down and hasn't got a strong smell,

• Keep some plain biscuits by your bedside,

• Limit drinks during meals but be sure to drink regularly - "I'm sure you don't wanna hear about the time I drunk a glass of water just after I had spaghetti with sauce" :/

• Try and get as much rest as possible and if you can take time off work ..take it!!

• Make ginger tea. It did not help me personally but It could help you as we
are all so different  :)

Can Timing Work for you..

You maybe breastfeeding for a few months, then decide to go on birth control until the time comes that you want another baby!  Since you only have boys or girls, you would love to try for the opposite sex.       So you make the decision to stop the birth control,-  for instance Feb - and decide to try the popular Timing Method in March.  Well......that's the 1st Mistake!!

Unfortunately, a lot of women think that as soon as they come off birth control (same goes with breastfeeding) they are ready to use this method of baby gender selection!!!

"Breastfeeding and Hormonal Birth control influences the monthly menstrual Cycle,

so in order to use the timing method we need to see a regular period without such influence"

and it takes 3-6 cycles in order to get this RIGHT. (as every woman is different)

Really.... 3-6 cycles...isn't that a really long time?
No, you need to be able to pinpoint Ovulation without relying on Ovulation Prediction Kits (OPK)
They do not work for every woman and especially when trying for a girl, it just doesn't give you the 3 day gap you need (from intercourse to Ovulation).
So a few extra months is not a lot in order to get the baby gender you desire :)

Should you want to know whether 'timing' can work for you...
All you have to do is fill this SIMPLE & FREE Questionnaire, and we'll take it from there.

Conception MYTHS

It’s easy to get pregnant!!
How to conceive a baby Girl, How to Conceive a baby Boy
For many people, it's not easy!!!!!!    There are many factors that can affect the woman's ability to get pregnant.  These include the correct Timing of intercourse,  age,  health problems,  stress and a range of other variables. Yet family and friends often ask…
      “Why aren’t you pregnant yet?”
      “What are you waiting for...?”
      “What’s wrong with you?”
and this adds to the stress of already trying to conceive..

Baby Gender Selection Ovulation happens on the 14th day!!
Well, not necessarily, unless ofcourse you have a perfect, consistent, 28 day cycle every month after month then maybe the 14th day is when ovulation happens !!!!
But for most women this is simply not true and should not rely on the 'average' 28 day cycle when trying to conceive. The word 'average,' it does not mean that your cycles always last 28 days, nor does it mean that they normally last 28 days. Your cycles can be different from one woman to the other.
Observing your fertility signs can help you pinpoint ovulation.

Baby Gender Selection
If we have sex regularly, I will get pregnant
You can have all the sex you want, but unless you have sex
during your most fertile window (a few days prior Ovulation and
on Ovulation day) you will not conceive. So you can have sex
25 days out of the whole  month and still manage to
miss Ovulation.  So timing is the key!!
(especially if trying to conceive a specific baby gender)

We already have a child,it will be easy to conceive again!!
Maybe, but there is no guarantee!!! Many couples experience infertility or difficulty conceiving a second, third or even a fourth child. This is often caused by age related factors. We tend to wait these days don't we??  Infertility is the inability to conceive after regular, unprotected intercourse after 12 months or 6 months if a woman is over 35.
Have a look at the chart below,  Whats your % in conceiving within 12 months?

Baby Gender Selection

If you are having problems conceiving you should always talk to your doctor or a fertility specialist.

Baby Gender Selection
I will conceive as soon as I stop taking hormonal birth control
This is probably the most asked question. The answer to this is You can get pregnant as soon as your body is ovulating again (as long as there are not any underlying fertility concerns). Some women’s fertility returns as soon as they stop taking the pill and others take a few months. It is not uncommon to have long or irregular cycles for the first two to three cycles after going off the pill. Should you wish to try for a specific baby gender then you must wait till your periods are regular before trying.

A woman's menstrual cycle begins when she starts spotting
Baby Gender Selection Method
Your menstrual cycle (period) begins on the first day you see bright red blood (brown spotting does not count).
Women are often unsure of the significance of spotting. They think that the spotting signals the start of their period, and count the spotting as Day 1 (CD1). Actually, the spotting is pre-menstrual spotting, and should be ignored. Only the start of a proper flow is considered to be Day 1. If they miscalculate, they end up mis-charting their entire cycle.

You cannot get pregnant while breastfeeding

Baby Gender Selection

This is based on the fact that constant breastfeeding during the first months of your baby's life will delay the menstrual cycle. However, when your body decides to release the first postnatal egg, ovulation occurs before menstruation resumes. So you won't know you ovulated for two weeks until you get your period(if you get it that is!!!)
There are Strict Breastfeeding Rules you can follow should you wish to use breastfeeding as a contraceptive.
